'Do It Better' is a variation on the theme of doing things better. It relates to personal challenges and also refers to the state of the world. It might be more fruitful to go to the root of the problem and not just leave it to the population to clean up the mess. Of course the song is open to interpretation.
lyrics
Oh we can do it better
Oh we can do it better
If I were you, I’d lay it down
There’s no use pushing when you’re underground
The forces rule, they’ll have their way
Handcuffed to the bed and that’s where you’ll stay
I won’t give up, I won’t take it lying down
You can pull the wool and cut me deep
My adversary clown
I make a breath, I flex my tongue
I’ll show you who I am
I’ll be strong
I’ll be strong
I’ll be a man
Oh we can do it better
I had a dream the other night
You shed your skin, but you lost the fight
Now don’t talk back, they’ll ruin your face
Don’t look in the mirror, gonna put you in your place
I won’t give up, I won’t take it lying down
You can pull the wool and cut me deep
My adversary clown
I make a breath, I flex my tongue
I’ll show you who I am
I’ll be strong
I’ll be strong
I’ll be a man
Oh we can do it better
Oh we can do it better
All the pretty stars
They twinkle oh so bright
Wish I could be one of them tonight
Solo
If I were you, I’d go to sleep
What’s the good of praying when you’re in too deep
The forces rule, they’ll have their way
Handcuffed to the bed and that’s where you’ll stay
I won’t give up, I won’t take it lying down
You can pull the wool and cut me deep
My adversary clown
I make a breath, I flex my tongue
I’ll show you who I am
I’ll be strong
I’ll be strong
I’ll be a man
Oh we can do it better
Oh we can do it better
Oh we can do it better
Oh we can do it better
